Android is the most widely used platform for commercial digital signage. From a $40 HDMI stick to a $2,000 commercial display, if it runs Android 7 or later, it runs SPARC.
OS
Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later

Network
Wi-Fi 802.11n or Ethernet
Three categories — each suited to different budget and performance requirements.
The most cost-effective option. Plug into an HDMI port, power from the display's USB, and you're done. Best for small deployments or where budget is tight.
More RAM and storage than sticks. Better thermal management for 24/7 operation. The sweet spot for most commercial digital signage deployments.
Professional-grade displays with Android built in. No external player needed. Designed for 24/7 commercial operation with brightness ratings suitable for retail environments.
Under 5 minutes from unboxing to live content.
Download SPARC Player from the Google Play Store (search 'SPARC Player') or sideload the APK from your SPARC dashboard. Enable 'Install from unknown sources' if sideloading.
When the app launches, it displays a 6-character pairing code on screen. This code identifies your device to the dashboard. It refreshes every 10 minutes until paired.
Log into mysparc.app, go to Screens > Add Screen, and enter the 6-character code. Give the screen a name and assign it to a location. It will appear as Active within 30 seconds.
Create a playlist in the Content section, assign it to your new screen, and hit Deploy. Your content appears on screen within seconds. The device caches everything locally for offline resilience.
Android devices need a few tweaks to run reliably around the clock.
Enable 'Stay awake' in Developer Options so the screen never sleeps during scheduled hours.
Set the display to 'Never' time out in Settings > Display > Screen Timeout.
Use wired Ethernet via a USB-C/Micro-USB to Ethernet adapter for reliable 24/7 uptime.
For deployments over 10 screens, consider a Mobile Device Manager (MDM) like Scalefusion to manage apps remotely.
Keep at least 4 GB of free storage so SPARC can cache an adequate content library locally.
