    SPARC on Amazon Fire TV

Amazon Fire TV Sticks are Android-based devices available from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and Amazon Australia. The Fire TV Stick 4K ($60) is one of the most affordable ways to put SPARC on a screen.

Sideloading required. The SPARC Player app is not currently on the Amazon Appstore. Setup takes an extra 5 minutes but no computer is needed — see the guide below.

    Setup guide

The sideload step adds about 5 minutes but requires no computer. Full process: under 10 minutes.

    01

Plug in and complete Fire TV initial setup

Connect the Fire TV Stick to an HDMI port and power it via USB. Follow the standard Amazon setup to connect to Wi-Fi and sign in (or skip sign-in if you prefer). A Fire TV account is not required to run SPARC.

    02

    Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options and turn on 'Apps from Unknown Sources'. This allows you to install the SPARC Player app, which is not (currently) listed in the Amazon Appstore.

    03

    Sideload the SPARC Player APK

Download the SPARC Player APK from your SPARC dashboard (Settings > Downloads > Android APK). Use the Downloader app (free on Amazon Appstore) to download and install the APK directly on the Fire TV. Enter the APK download URL from your dashboard.

    04

    Pair from your SPARC dashboard

Launch SPARC Player. It displays a 6-character pairing code. Log into mysparc.app > Screens > Add Screen and enter the code. Your Fire TV screen will be active and ready for content within 30 seconds.

    Tips for commercial deployments

Fire TV devices need a few settings adjusted for always-on signage use.

For reliable 24/7 operation, use the Fire TV Cube with its included Ethernet adapter rather than relying on Wi-Fi.

Disable the Fire TV screensaver: Settings > Display > Screensaver > Start Time > Never.

Turn off 'Sleep' in Settings > My Fire TV > Power > Sleep to keep the display on during scheduled hours.

The Downloader app (free, Amazon Appstore) is the easiest way to sideload the SPARC APK — no computer required.

If the screen shows Amazon home after a period of inactivity, set Display > Turn Off Display to 'Never'.

Try SPARC on your Fire TV

Create a free account, download the APK, and pair your first Fire TV in under 10 minutes.
